We’re pleased to recognize some of your Club's exceptional volunteers and coaches in 2025. Thank you for your nominations and comments. If you know these folks, will you please help congratulate them? Key to the Club’s success is the army of parent volunteers who run the Club and welcome our 30,000 guests each year. Special thanks to the Club’s Board of Directors and every Recreation League Coach for children ages 2-20.
Recreation League Coach of the Year Serving 2000+ children, 250+ teams, and 260+ volunteer Recreation coaches, there are often too many great Recreation Coaches to recognize each year. These coaches were each nominated by several parents via season end survey Fall 2025.
Jason Swanbeck Joined USAI last year and immediately stepped forward to ensure a consistently positive player experience. Has coached nine teams and is known for initiative and organization.
Catherine Justininano Coached USAI Recreation League for 10 years, 23 teams in 20 seasons. Coach Catherine teaches soccer skills, teamwork, confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship. She also mentors new coaches.
Pete and Jenny Baenziger Always willing to help and consistently go above and beyond in support of the teams.
Barry Neuman Known for his positive attitude, flexibility, and focus on player experience.
Eric Hess Coaches two teams and a USAI Fun Friday Futsal team and is always willing to assist where needed.
Nick & Maggie Glenn Started as USAI Soccer Tots Coaches, super involved &; committed to providing outstanding player experience.
Volunteer of the Year (non-Coach, non-Team Manager, non-Board member)
Christie Brock Volunteers often with her son many times each season including Field Days, Team Field Care, Tournaments.
Melissa & Brendan Pickens consistently volunteer for shifts for USAI tournaments, have 3 children in USAI Travel soccer.
Scott Davis 2011B Silver, provides critical daytime support for parking lots, multiple field days, lining fields.
Sarah Clemens 2012B Red, great supporting parent, goes above and beyond in helping on Field Days and helps to organize accommodations when the team travels.
Yazzie Vasquez 2012B Red, supports Field Days, field lining, travel coordination, and communication with Spanish speaking families.
Kimberly Romero often operates the snack bar on Recreation League game days.
Travel Coach of the Year 2025
Cameron Shine, Head Coach 2012B Red, Age Group Coordinator is USAI Travel Soccer Coach of the Year. For many years, Coach Shine demonstrates exceptional leadership, dedication, and passion in guiding a diverse group of teen-age athletes. Terrific results on the field are a direct reflection of Coach Cameron’s skill, preparation, and ability to bring out the best in players. What truly distinguishes Cam goes beyond wins and rankings. He is deeply committed to developing well-rounded young men both on and off the field. He emphasizes not only the technical and tactical aspects of the game but also sportsmanship, character, responsibility, and respect. His players are taught to represent themselves, their families, and their club with integrity at all times. Equally important is Coach Cameron’s strong emphasis on academics. He is helping players grow into confident, respectful, and motivated individuals—qualities that will serve them throughout their lives. His impact on their development is profound and lasting, making him a truly outstanding leader within youth sports.
Jose Molina, Assistant Coach, 2012B Red. Deeply engaged in the Latino community, Coach Molina has helped introduce many new players to USAI Travel Soccer. He works with players outside scheduled training, emphasizes academic and character development, and selflessly supports all teams within the 2012B age group.
Team Managers of the Year
Bilen Mulugeta 2011B White and 11 Youth Academy Boys Teams!
Jessie Lane 2015B White, 2011G White and Tosha Baskin 2011G White, 2012G Red, 2015B White; team managers for two
years and are fantastic with organization and communication. They organize team outings and extra activities leading up to and during a tournament.
Tamera Mitchell Outstanding job co-managing the academy teams, embodies USAI volunteerism and building community. She actively supports each player and his family in maximizing and enjoying their USAI travel experience and pours her heart into the work.
Christiana Lahmon & Sara Marshall 2013B and Sarah Jackman 2010B Exceed traditional expectations through organization, fundraising, and communications. All three are truly deserving.
Julie Barker searches for activities for 2011B Blue team that will give them chances to bond and grow beyond the game. This includes a fundraiser at the Monumental Marathon; volunteering at Gleaners Food Bank. She is also the first person to welcome new families to the team and makes herself available for questions.
Brittany Heyveld exceptional example of what it means to serve youth athletes with dedication, positivity, and selflessness who embodies the spirit of youth soccer. Her commitment to USAI, the team, and the game has made an incredible impact as she represents everything that makes soccer great—teamwork, service, community, and a genuine love for helping players grow both on and off the field.

Tied for first place with 61% of the team's expected volunteer shifts covered for Indy Fusion Classic 2025 are 2013B Blue team with Coach Daouda Sene and Manager Amy Knowlton and 2011G Red team with Coach Michelle Itczak and Managers Sally Leyes and Jessie Lane. Fantastic volunteerism.
